This riot of autumn color was inspired by an overlook in the White Mountains of NH.

About Marian Federspiel

Marian Federspiel

I am a digital painter of landscapes and lakescapes in the Mountain and Lakes Regions of New Hampshire (USA). Digital painting is a relatively new medium. I use Adobe Illustrator (a software program) to create images, using pixels as my paint and a mouse as my brush. The computer monitor is my canvas. The painting process is similar to traditional painting. A scene inspires an image in my mind and pencil sketches and photos are taken for reference. The scene is then hand drawn with the mouse. The images are not manipulated photographs; they are drawn by my hand moving a mouse. The result is a brilliantly colored serigraph-like print. I studied art at the University of Connecticut and have a BFA in painting. I worked as an art director...
